UPDATE ON AFFORDABLE HOUSING
Since its inception in 2006 with the cooperation and participation of the Summit Association of Realtors, the Summit Combined Housing Authority has helped 17 families sell their deed-restricted property to other local buyers. By keeping closing costs down, we have been able to get some people into a property who might not have otherwise qualified.
As part of the program, if we do not have a listing contract on the property within 45 days, we refer the Seller to one of the realtors participating in our program. When the property sells, the Housing Authority is then paid a referral fee of 25% of the listing agent’s commission.
Since this program would not have been possible without the real estate community’s participation, we are now offering a referral fee of 25% of our fee if a realtor brings us a buyer who purchases any of our deed-restricted properties.
Currently, we have several one and two bedroom units with attached garage available at Vic’s Landing, a new development across from the Breckenridge Golf Course, starting at $185,000. Buyers must income-qualify and there is a cap on the resale.
Also available, is a 2 bedroom, 1 bath unit at the Ore House in Frisco. The property must be sold to someone whose income does not exceed 100% of the Area Median Income or to someone who will rent to a local worker whose income does not exceed that AMI. The property is for sale for $241,108.
